A NETWORK OF EIGHT waymarked footpaths runs through the village of
Nethy Bridge. There are links with Grantown-on-Spey and Boat of Garten
via the Speyside Way, and also links to the RSPB Osprey Centre and the
Strathspey Steam railway's Broomhill Station.

RIVERSIDE WALK
(Green
waymarkers) follows the river Nethy upstream and returns through a
former tree nursery and Dell Wood National Nature Reserve.
Distance: 3km return (2miles, 1 hour
Start: Nethy Bridge Community Centre
Terrain:
All abilities route along river for 1km, with regular resting points,
clear overhead tunnel, low gradients with one short stretch at 1:8.
Woodland Track with steps, kissing gate and can be muddy.
ALL ABILITIES OPTION : Follow signs to return by Dell Road or Dell Wood ( 2.5km )
SHORT OPTION: Follow the link halfway along the riverside ( 2km, 0.5hour )This link funded by the Highland Access Project.

KINGS ROAD - MILL TRAIL
(Blue waymarkers)
A walk through open mature woodland with views of the Cairngorms, returning by the riverside.
Distance: 5km (3miles)
Approx time:1.5 hours
Start: Nethy Bridge Community Centre
Terrain: Low level forest paths, some parts can be muddy in wet weather, kissing gates.
PUGGY LINE TRAIL
(Purple waymarkers).
A woodland walk between village and Tulloch Road, passing by remains of a light railway.
Distance: 4km return (2.5miles)
Approx time: 1 hour
Start: Community Centre
Terrain: Low level forest paths, with footbridges, some parts can be muddy in wet weather.
LETTOCH WALK
(Black waymarkers )
This scenic walk follows the River Nethy upstream and through Lettoch Wood, with spectacular views of the Cairngorm Mountains.
Distance: 8km (5 miles)
Approx time: 2.5 hours
Start:Community Centre or Black Bridge (6km, 2hours)
Terrain: Varied following all abilities trail, tarred minor road, woodland tracks, with kissing gate and cattle grid.

CASTLE ROY LOOP
(Pink waymarkers). A circular walk passing the ruins of a 13th century fortress.
Distance: 5.5km (3.5miles)
Approx time: 1.5 hours
Start: Causer or Castle Roy Carpark
Terrain: Forest paths and tracks, footbridge, kissing gates and stiles. Some higher gradients.
WILDERNESS TRAIL
(Yellow waymarkers). A circular walk through woodland.
Distance: 2.5km (1.5 miles)
Approx time: 45 mins
Start: Causer
Terrain: Low level forest paths, some parts can be muddy in wet weather, kissing gates.
The local school children have produced a leaflet all about the wildlife to be found on this walk.
BACHARN TRAIL
(Brown waymarkers). Walk between Nethy Bridge and Grantown through woodland, open hill and Revack Gardens.
Distance: 14km (8.5 miles) to Grantown, or 20km (13 miles return by Speyside Way)
Approx time: 4 hours (to Grantown)
Start: Causer or Grantown
Terrain:
Variable quality woodland tracks and paths, some steep sections, and
open fields with livestock ( See leaflet for complete route ).
Important: Please keep dogs under close control.
*ALTERNATIVE
RETURN ROUTE via Speyside Way, joining at Salmon Smokehouse or along
the Speyside Way Link path at Boat of Balliefurth ( new in 2003. Funded
by the Highland Access Project ).

BROOMHILL WALK
(Red waymarkers ) A river walk by open fields between Nethy Bridge and Broomhill Station.
Distance: 5km return ( 3 miles)
Approx time: 1.5 hours
Start: Community Centre or Broomhill Station
Terrain: Low level river bank path with stiles.
Warning: Path may be impassable when river level is high. Please keep your dog on a lead near stock.
